Infrastructure Upgrades for 440 units across 10 buildings
Located across from Kamaole Beach Park III, the Kamaole Sands condominium complex features 440 units across 10 buildings on 15 acres of beautifully landscaped property. As one of South Maui’s most popular vacation rental destinations, the property required a carefully coordinated approach to infrastructure upgrades with minimal disruption to residents and guests.
Our scope of work included the full replacement of all above-grade DWV (drain, waste, and vent) cast iron piping, along with firestopping at all piping penetrations. Below grade, we installed a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining system throughout the existing cast iron piping. By utilizing fitting connection liners, we eliminated the need for reinstatements—resulting in a seamless, continuous liner from end to end.
The project was executed in two phases over the course of two years, totaling approximately 40,000 working hours. Work was carried out in parallel with a roof replacement project, requiring extensive coordination and heightened safety protocols for all crews on site.
The Kamaole Sands project stands as a strong example of successful planning and execution in large-scale pipe replacement within an active, occupied property.
